Marvin Pentz Gay, Jr. (born April 2, 1939 in Washington, D.C.; died April 1, 1984 in Los Angeles, California), was a Grammy award winning R&B, soul and doo-wop singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known as The Prince of Soul. Originally a member of the doo-wop group The Moonglows, he pursued a solo career after the group disbanded and released many successful solo hits including How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You), Sexual Healing, I Heard It Through the Grapevine and Let’s Get It On.

Originally called simply The Maytals, are considered legends of ska and reggae music. They are from Kingston, Jamaica. Their sound is a unique, original combination of gospel, ska, soul, reggae and rock. Frederick “Toots” Hibbert, the leader of the group, was born in May Pen in the Parish of Clarendon, Jamaica. He was the youngest of seven children. He grew up singing gospel music in a church choir, but moved to Kingston in 1961 at the age of sixteen.

For the legendary Willie Dixon, the Big Three Trio was an important launching pad for a fantastic career. Pianist Leonard “Baby Doo” Caston and guitarist Bernardo Dennis (replaced after a year by Ollie Crawford) joined upright bassist Dixon to form the popular trio in 1946. Caston was just out of the service (where he’d played on U.S.O. tours during World War II); Dixon had been a conscientious objector. Dixon had previously worked with Caston in the Five Breezes and with Dennis in the Four Jumps of Jive.

Erratic punk parodists The Bollock Brothers have been led over the years by erstwhile singer Jock McDonald, their output ranging from inspired silliness to lame stupidity. The group debuted in 1983 with a double novelty album called The Last Supper; Horror Movies was thier biggest hit, later in the year, they released one of their more infamous projects, a total re-recording of the sole Sex Pistols album, this time titled Never Mind the Bollocks 1983, complete with synthesizer arrangements and a few altered lyrics.

The Brighton Port Authority (or The BPA) is a musical project from United Kingdom initiated by Norman Cook (aka. Fatboy Slim) and his long-time engineer Simon Thornton in 2007. Dino Paul Crocetti (born June 7, 1917 in Steubenville, Ohio; died December 25, 1995 in Beverly Hills, California), better known as Dean Martin and often referred to as the King of Cool, was an Italian American singer, actor, comedian and member of The Rat Pack who was signed to Frank Sinatra’s Reprise Records. Despite the fact that Martin couldn’t read music, he recorded more than 100 albums over his career, racking up major hits such as That’s Amore, Volare and his signature tune Everybody Loves Somebody. He was also a successful film actor and won a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Who Was That Lady?
